After 15 months of silence

Ok I admit that I never really intended to ever continue this blog once we got back from our 2009 four month RV tour around the country.  I did however envision that we would soon be off on another adventure that would surely be worthy of an entry or two.  Well, in my recent bout of incessant nagging to the kids about keeping weekly journals, Dane (my conscience) asked what my journal looked like?  Caught in total hypocrisy and inspired by my good friend Llilli who is never failing in her blog updates, I decided to try.

I just returned yesterday from leading the 8th grade Washington DC tour for a week - yes an entire week, Sunday to Saturday.  There was rain and arctic winds but we managed to stroll among the cherry blossoms regardless.  I am still not sure how I came to be in charge - I vaguely remember offering to help last Fall and I suppose no stronger offer was presented.  I am happy to report that all went well (ie no one died or got lost on the metro).  Beyond that, it is all a blur.  All a blur except for this lovely photo texted to me from home reporting that Mason had chipped is beautiful front tooth on the diving board at practice.  It did end up to be an April Fool's Day joke.  I didn't see it coming since I had already been traumatized by false reports that Mason had lost the election for Senior Class President.  Good grief!  I am trying to keep 22 kids from falling in the Potomac already!!!

  1. Nice to get an advance report on the DC trip before the Bunco debriefing next week. ;) Glad it went well. My kids would be so inspired by your April Fools' Day hoaxes... so I am certainly not going to tell them!!
