Greg came through the surgery like a champ. The surgeon (Dr Chung) was able to remove Greg's kidney and tumor laparoscopically as planned. He said that it went very well, with no complications (or additional unwanted discoveries), in just 2.5 hours. The surgery was delayed until after 3PM, and since Greg spent a little extra time in recovery, he did not get into his room until after 9PM. The late night in combination with the heavy meds, enabled him to provide high entertainment for all of us until about midnight. He is already up and walking so I imagine that he will be out of the hospital in record time.
We do not have any information about his treatment or what comes next, and won't until the pathology reports have been completed (probably next week).
We are so grateful to all of you for your faith, prayers, fasting and love. This morning before surgery Greg told me that he literally feels as if he is being lifted through this. We were both calm and peaceful.
We love you all. We feel so blessed to have you in our lives.
Love, Kaele
PS Mason is recovering nicely from his rattlesnake bite. He still can't walk on his foot, but the swelling goes down very day. He says that he is going to beat the 2012 record for longest distance wheelchair wheelie which is 10.016 miles.
