Home Again

It is the last week of summer vacation for Dane, Drake and Avalon!! and we are trying to make up for lost time and cram in all of the matinee movies, cousin swim parties and late night Baskin Robbin runs that we can.  This has been somewhat distracting for Mason and Kambria since they have been back in school since August 8th, but it is so nice to all be back together again as a family.

Greg finally got released from Stanford on Sunday afternoon, and we made it back just in time to hear Kambria play the harp at the stake missionary fireside. Greg is still in recovery mode this week - he ended up putting on a total of 30 pounds of saline weight.  (His cankles far exceeded mine, even at the end of my twin pregnancy).  At least this time he can breathe better, since not as much fluid ended up in his lungs.  Greg had his PICC line removed before his discharge so he has no restrictions once he is feeling better.  He still is experiencing flu like symptoms in addition to being extremely low on energy, but already he has shown great improvement every day. At his follow up appointment Wed morning, Dr Srinivas was happy with his recovery progress and congratulated him on getting a total of 18 doses over the two weeks.  Now we wait for a month and pray that the IL-2 does what it is supposed to do.

So we are looking forward to a few weeks of "normal" life.  We appreciate all of the emails and texts and dinners and even more offers for dinners and assistance.  What would we do without such dear family and friends?

  1. You help us keep everything in perspective. Our air conditioning was out for 10 days with the temperatures over 100 degrees everyday. We had to check into the Springhill Suites to wait out the repair. When I think of complaining I don't have to look far to be grateful for my trials. Glad things are going we well as they can. Prayers and thoughts continue to go your way. I check the blog every day to see the update.
