March Madness

But basketball fans should not get excited.  'Tis the season for volleyball and lacrosse.  I considered how much time has passed since my last entry and realized that I would be lucky to even fit in everything that happened this week, so the past year will have to stand on its photo and instagram record.  Kambria hosted pictures for the Sadies Dance (yes she really is 16!) and I got the additional honor of working as a ticket taker at the dance.

Avalon is now playing lacrosse!!  It is her first time on a team and she #2 is on the Girls City League Purple Team.  She played well in her first ever game against Granite Bay on Friday.  Sadly, they got "creamed" as she put it - with a final score of 3-10.  But there is the whole season ahead... and yes she and Scout are wearing shorts under those jerseys!

Biomes struck Marble Valley School once again.  Dane and Drake got their whole class to vote to build the bamboo forest because they think pandas and mountain gorillas are amazing.  And if Greg had to spend 2 days tracking down real bamboo poles to transform their classroom for the day, it was well worth it.

  

While a few doors down, Avalon and Walker were the local monkey experts in the third grade tropical rainforest.

Saturday was a first for Greg as he had the opportunity to perform a wedding!  It was perfect weather and he did a great job  Both the bride (Jennifer Ragan) and groom (Kyle Speas) are amazing members of our ward so it was a very happy occasion for everyone involved.  

 










As for Greg's health, at his last appointment in January everything still looked clear - so that was 9 months cancer free.  As a result, they downgraded the type of scans he will get in the future: chest only with no contrast dye (contract dye is really hard on his remaining kidney plus he has developed a mild allergy to it).  In addition, his scans have been moved to every 6 months.  So we will not go in for another check until mid-July!  We consider his recovery to be one of our choicest blessings.

Mason is enjoying another semester at BYU Provo.  The above pic is from his visit out for Roman's farewell at the end of January.  It was nice to see that college didn't change the most important things, like cereal with the boys three times a day.  We are excited to be heading out to Park City for Spring break where we are sure he will make time to visit us (as long as we pay for his ski pass and food :)
