Many Many Blessings

I was recently complaining about how the month of May drives me insane with all of the end-of-the-school-year craziness and what seems like 6 months of events crammed into 4 weeks, when my friend pointed out that were it not for that, we would not appreciate June and summer vacation when it came.  I was appropriately chastened - how could I forget even for a second that every single day is a blessing indeed.

And just last night was Mason's high school graduation.  As senior class president, he was the last speaker on the program, which of course meant that we had to actually stay and watch all 543 seniors get their diplomas.  Yay Mason!!!  

Here is our handsome graduate with his cousin Roman - they will be rooming together at BYU in Helaman Halls for Summer Term.  It is important to note that although Mason looks like a shrimp in this picture, it is only because he is standing by Roman, who is 6'4" and outweighs Mason by 110lbs.

After spending several weeks planning and building this ramp, Mason was hoping to spend his last few weeks at home perfecting his bicycle flips into our neighbor's pond.  However, the water level has dropped 3 feet since this picture was taken so the reckless "I-am-18-and-therefore-I-can-never-die" stunts have been put on hold for the time being.  While he and his friends did manage, (after 2 days and a grappling hook made from a picture stand), to find the missing bike at the bottom on the pond, the Go-Pro head camera is still somewhere in the murky depths.  Stay tuned in August, when the pond becomes a big dried out puddle - we just may be able to post that amazing footage.

We continue to be blessed beyond measure with regards to Greg's health.  In April, a thoracic surgeon biopsied the remaining slightly enlarged lymph node in Greg's chest.  After examining multiple samples, they found no cancer cells at all.  On Wednesday we had a follow-up with Dr. Srinivas, as well as another set of full CT scans.  The radiologist report was "total response to treatment" (AKA there is absolutely nothing interesting on these scans at all).  Dr. Srinivas said that in the oncology department they refer to it as "no evidence of disease."  This is absolutely the best case scenario if you consider where Greg was less than one year ago.  It is truly amazing!  We feel humbled and blessed by this incredible miracle in our lives and recognize it as such.
