Chicago was really more rainy than windy, but as we found out, it isn't even called that because of the wind but rather because of the "windbag" promoters of the 1896 Chicago World Fair.
We went to the top of the Sears Tower (now renamed the Willis Tower - it might stick, who knows?)
We cruised around Millenium Park, checked out the Landmark building gallery, made a stop at a Dunkin' Donuts/ Baskin Robbins shop (brilliant combo), shopped along Miracle Mile (8 levels of Macys), rode the elevated train, and went to the movies. A truly whirlwind Chicago tour. I could have spent a few more days shopping!
By the time we were headed out of the city, it was a crazy lightening storm. While the rest of were in SuperTarget, Greg saw it strike a radio tower about 1/4 mile from where we were parked. It was awesome!

I guess nobody is afraid of heights!
ReplyDeleteThat picture in the tower reminded me of a plexiglass floor I stood on in a tower in Auckland New Zealand. Pretty freaky. Your girls didn't look fazed at all. Still 85 degrees and sunny here. Hope the weather holds out for you.
ReplyDeleteYou'll notice that I am not in any of those pictures. I actually stepped out on the plexiglass for a few seconds and I got so light-headed that I had to sit down.
