We got most of the results from the two days of tests that Greg did this week, and so far things aren't worse than they thought - which is always a cause to celebrate. Specifically, they did an MRI brain scan and there are no metastatic tumors there- phew! They also did a more complete bone scan, as well as an echo stress tests and pulmonary scan and a few others. So Greg is still on schedule to start IL-2. He will be at Stanford from July 31-August 6 for the first half of the first round.
In the meantime Greg was cleared to go on our family houseboat trip to Lake Powell this week!!! We are so excited that the timing worked out (healed enough from surgery to go on the trip, swim etc... not quite healed enough to undertake the Interleukin-2). This will be a great week with family and friends and will give us all a chance to regroup and relax - I guess the calm before the storm, no cell phones, no doctor appointments, no schedule at all. We can't wait.
Just wanted to share a tender moment from Jacob's prayer over our lunch today. Usually his prayers over meals our fairly short and to the point, and sometimes he'll ask for help. But today he did the prayer all on his own and it was a very sincere thoughtful prayer. Part way through he started praying for Greg. I can't remember the exact words, of course the way a 4 yr old says it is so precious, but he prayed for Greg and his family and that a miracle would happen and his sickness would go away. We love you!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so glad you guys are getting away for a while! ENJOY every moment of it. We of course are praying for all of you and thinking of you so often. Can't wait to see Bishop back.
ReplyDeleteWe missed Bishop for Aria's blessing but were so happy to hear that he was vacationing!!! Much needed. I hope that you all have a really relaxing and joyous time. You all deserve it. Love you and pray for your family.
