We went to Stanford for Greg's CT scan this morning to determine whether the IL-2 is working. The doctor FINALLY called with the results about an hour ago. We are so grateful to report that Greg IS responding to the treatment!! His tumors have all shrunk by 50%. And while he still has more fighting ahead, at this point we could not have hoped for a better response.
We are, as you can imagine, totally overcome with gratitude to God for this miracle in our lives. We have felt the Savior's presence throughout this experience but of course as with all trials, it is not always clear which path we will walk. And while we are still on a journey, we feel so blessed by the many ways that we have been shown that we are loved and watched over. We also know that we would not be this far without the prayers and fasting of so many of you.
I know that this is a bit jumbled and since when do I ever post without a photo?? But we really wanted to let you know our bit of good news as soon as possible.
We love you!
This is such wonderful news. After I found out from Dori last night that Greg is responding to the treatment, I ran around like a manic madwoman with a giant smile on my face. I am so happy for you. I love you guys.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I know you don't know me, but I'm a good friend of the Evans family and have been following Greg's story; I hope you don't mind. I just had to comment because this is great news and I'm so excited for you. Weren't the odds something like 4% for the tumors to shrink? Keep fighting, Greg; you'll make it through!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow that is such good news. It sounds like prayers are being answered. We will keep praying until the last 50% is gone. We love you guys!
ReplyDeleteYAYAYAYAYAYAY! We are SO happy to hear this news. We love our dear Porter's and are looking forward to more good news in the near future!
